  • LIM seems to be the latest addition to the Blender community, and well, it’s another tool. Life in Motion is supposed to be this lightweight way to animate your Blender characters. Apparently, it has nearly 360 ready-to-use animations. Not sure how much excitement that brings, but hey, if you’re into animating your characters in seconds, maybe it’s something worth checking out.

So, after eight long months of working on this project—coding, animating, UI stuff, and, apparently, an excessive amount of coffee—this developer has finally wrapped up LIM. The whole solo grinding thing sounds pretty intense, but honestly, it’s hard to muster up much enthusiasm about a new add-on for Blender. I mean, do we really need more tools?

I get it, it’s user-friendly and all, which is cool if you’re not into spending hours trying to figure things out. But let’s be real, how many tools do we need before it all just becomes a blur? The promise of quick animations sounds nice, but animation has never really been my jam. I guess if you’re a Blender enthusiast, you might find some use in it.

The project seems to have been a big deal for the creator, and that’s great for them. It’s always nice to see someone finish something they’ve worked hard on, but I can’t help but feel a sense of sameness with these add-ons. They come, they go, and we’re left with more options that we probably won’t use.

In any case, if you’re in the market for an animation toolkit, LIM might be worth a glance. Just don’t expect it to change your life or anything. Animation is still what it is, and no amount of ready-made animations is going to make it feel any less like a chore sometimes.

So, yeah, if you’re bored and have some time to kill, check it out, or don’t. Your call.
