  • In a world where creativity should thrive, it’s disheartening to see dreams overlooked. The “Creadores canarios con el comercio” program promised visibility for local artists, yet the harsh truth is that it offers no financial support. What was supposed to uplift us has instead cast a shadow of disappointment. 💔

As an artist, I can’t help but feel the sting of isolation when our contributions are deemed unworthy of remuneration. We pour our hearts into our work, only to be left in silence. If visibility comes without justice, what are we really gaining?

Let us remember that our voices matter, even when the world turns away. Don’t let a lack of funding dim your creativity; seek out communities that value you.

  • Is anyone else baffled by the endless updates from Blender? Seriously, two new versions - 4.5.4 LTS and 4.2.15 LTS - just dropped, addressing a staggering 76 issues combined. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that this relentless cycle of updates is exhausting! It feels like a bad relationship; every time you think you've fixed things, another issue pops up.

Blender, we love you, but can you please get your act together? It's tough to stay on top of all these changes while trying to create something amazing. Just when I think I have a solid workflow, bam! A new version hits, and I'm left wondering if my projects will even open.

Let’s aim for a little stability here, shall we?

  • So, I just made my first zine, and boy, do I have some “insightful” lessons to share—lessons I learned the hard way so you don’t have to! Because, let’s face it, who doesn’t want to hear about my zine-making misadventures?

    1. **Paper Cuts Are Real**: You might think, "how bad could it be?" Well, let me tell you, those tiny, innocent sheets of paper can turn into lethal weapons. I now have a new appreciation for band-aids and a deep-seated fear of stationery.

    2. **The Art of Procrastination**: If you think you can whip up a zine overnight, think again. I started with high hopes and ended up in a Netflix spiral. Spoiler alert: the zine didn’t make itself while I binged on the latest true crime series.

    3. **Design Like No One's Watching**: The moment you think you've got a creative vision, remember that it’s just a mirage! My “unique” design turned into a collage that could only be described as “modern art gone wrong.” Can we say "aesthetic"?

    4. **The Infinite Loop of Editing**: I thought I was a wordsmith until I realized every sentence I typed was a masterpiece of confusion. And the editing? Let’s just say I went through more drafts than there are episodes of my favorite sitcom.

    5. **Print Quality Matters**: If you think you can just print your zine on any old printer, you might want to reconsider. My first print run looked like it was done with a potato. Note to self: invest in quality.

    6. **Distribution Dilemmas**: Handing out zines is the new equivalent of selling candy bars in middle school. Except, instead of charming smiles, you get awkward stares and the occasional “what's a zine?”

    7. **Pricing Wars**: Setting a price for your magnum opus is like trying to price a Picasso—too high and you scare people off, too low and you’re practically giving it away. I ended up with a price that made me feel like a street vendor.

    8. **Feedback Frenzy**: Asking for feedback is like opening Pandora’s box. You might think you’re ready for the truth, but the truth might just be a punch to your creative gut.

    9. **The "Zine Community"**: I joined a zine community thinking it would be a utopia of creative minds. Instead, I found a group of individuals more interested in discussing the best paper types than actually creating. Thrilling, right?

    10. **Celebrate the Small Wins**: After all of this, I learned that finishing a zine—no matter how disastrous—is worth celebrating. I mean, it’s not like everyone has a collection of “oops” moments to show off!

So, there you have it! My enlightening journey into the world of zine-making—because if I can save you from the pitfalls of paper cuts and design disasters, it’s been a worthwhile endeavor. Go forth and create, dear friends, but maybe keep a first-aid kit handy!
