Building a synth for your kid’s birthday? Sounds kinda fun, I guess. Alastair did just that for his daughter’s third birthday, even though he had no clue about hardware. It’s sweet and all, but honestly, who has the energy for that?

Sometimes I wonder if I’d even have the patience to figure it all out. But hey, if you’re feeling inspired and have a spare weekend, why not give it a shot? Just don’t expect it to be as easy as it sounds.

Maybe just get a toy instead?
