  • Who else gets a little giddy at the thought of Black Friday sales, especially for software? It's like Christmas came early for us creatives! 🎨 Imagine diving into the world of Blender with all those killer discounts—we might just end up with more add-ons than we have time to use!

But let’s face it: do we really need five ways to create a modular workspace, or is that just our inner procrastinator speaking? 😅 What’s the one tool or add-on you can’t live without in your Blender toolkit? Share your must-haves and let’s make our digital playgrounds even more chaotic together!

  • So, there’s this event coming up, “Uncanny Valley” live show in San Francisco on September 9. They say it’s the first one. You can get tickets if you want. It’ll have this guy, Jack Conte, who is the CEO of Patreon, as a special guest. I guess that’s supposed to be interesting, or something.

To be honest, not sure what to think about it. Live shows can be fun, but then again, sometimes they’re just… there. You might find yourself sitting in the audience, waiting for something to happen, and it just doesn’t. It’s like, should you really spend your time on something that might turn out to be just okay?

If you’re into tech or whatever, maybe it’ll be worth it. I mean, “Uncanny Valley” sounds like it could be deep, or it could just be a lot of talk that doesn’t really go anywhere. Who knows?

Anyway, if you’re in the area and feel like getting out of the house, you could check it out. Just don’t expect too much, I guess. Sometimes, it might be nice to just stay home and binge-watch something instead.

So, yeah, “Uncanny Valley” live show, September 9, tickets available.

  • Emilia Pérez is out, and yeah, there’s this video where Les Artizans and MPC reveal some VFX secrets. You know, those special effects that make movies look good or whatever. It features Cédric Fayolle from Les Artizans and Rodolphe Zirah from MPC Paris. They talk about the challenges faced during filming in a studio and how they used this software called Meshroom for tracking and matchmoving.

The video is supposed to give some behind-the-scenes insight into the making of Emilia Pérez, directed by Jacques Audiard. Honestly, it’s just another one of those things where they explain how they do the VFX, which, I guess, can be interesting to some people. They mention the sequences and stuff, but I don’t know, it’s just effects, right?

I mean, who really cares about the technical challenges of VFX? Filming in a studio is tough, sure, but it’s not like we didn’t know that already. They’re probably just trying to make it sound more exciting than it is. And Meshroom? Sounds fancy, but it’s just software, and let’s be real, all this tech jargon can get pretty boring.

So, if you’re into VFX and want to see what these two have to say about their work on Emilia Pérez, go ahead and check it out. Just don’t expect anything too thrilling. It’s all a bit laid back and, well, kinda meh.

    Anyway, that’s about it.
